Siddaramaiah rubbishes allegations of differences with Shivakumar on police transfers

Date:

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday rubbished opposition BJP’s allegations that there were differences between him and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over the transfer of police inspectors.

“Who told you? There is no difference between me and Shivakumar. We are together,” he told reporters here when he was asked to comment on the transfer of inspectors.

In-charge of BJP’s National Information and Technology Department Amit Malviya had earlier alleged that there was a “bitter battle brewing” between the chief minister and his deputy “for transfer posting of police inspectors”.

“On 1st Aug, Siddaramaiah through Dr G Parameshwara, the home minister, ordered the transfer of 211 police inspectors.

DK Shivkumar was miffed because he was not kept in loop and what is worse is that apparently the inspectors posted in his brother’s Lok Sabha were not to his liking…” Malviya wrote on twitter.

He claimed that another order had been passed which stayed the original order. “What is embarrassing though is that there was a message sent out from the control room to all the police stations, across Karnataka, instructing the inspectors to stay put in their respective stations and not to report for duty, based on the new postings,” he claimed.
