Two more held in connection with Altercation

Agartala, August 20: In relation to the recent altercation that transpired in the Rasthar Matha area of Bishalgarh, police have arrested two additional individuals, identified as Gobinda Debnath and Bibek Das, both residents of the Gokulnagar Pandit Chowmuhani area. These arrests took place on Saturday night, bringing the total number of apprehended suspects to three.

Bishalgarh police presented Gobinda Debnath and Bibek Das before the court on Sunday. Officer-in-Charge of Bishalgarh Police Station, Tapas Das, confirmed that a case has been lodged at the police station on behalf of residents of the Street Head Tower. The complaint, naming eight individuals allegedly involved in the incident, has been accepted by the police, who are diligently conducting their investigation.

Meanwhile, the previously arrested suspect remains in judicial custody. The incident, which occurred on the night of August 17, originated at a local fair in the Rasta Matha area. A group of troublemakers allegedly entered a residence, leading to a physical altercation and property damage. Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged with the police, initiating the ongoing investigation into the incident.
