Road blockade in demand of drinking water at Ampi road; DWS officials assured repairing soon

Agartala, August 23, 2023: School and college students, vehicle drivers and common people have to grind due to the long road blockade during the busiest time of the day for the demand of drinking water.  The incident took place in Khasia Mangal area of ​​Amarpur-Teliamura via Ampi road under Teliamura police station on Wednesday.

 Reportedly, it is learned that the supply of drinking water has been stopped in the concerned area for the past three days, it is also learned that during the electricity extension work in the area, the pipes that were for the supply of drinking water were cut somehow, this problem was created.  But even after two to three days, no action has been taken to repair these pipes and supply water to the concerned areas. 

 In the meantime, complaints have been made by the local residents and the DWS office has been contacted about the whole matter, although the DWS officials have dismissed the claim of the local residents and said that the matter has not been brought to their notice.

 Although on Wednesday, when common people come down on the roadblock suddenly, the authorities are shocked, the police and the officials of the DWS office rushed to the blockade.  The blockade was lifted based on a promise to immediately repair the broken pipes and make provision for drinking water.

Due to this siege which was delayed for almost an hour, the common people had to suffer a lot of harassment.
