Agartala, August 29, 2023: BJP has intensified its campaign in Boxanagar assembly constituency ahead of the by-elections scheduled for September 5. On Tuesday morning, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, nominated candidate Tafajjal Hossain and other party leaders participated in a festive procession with a large number of supporters at Tamsabari Nagar Panchayat under Boxanagar mandal. The procession covered Tamsabari Nagar Panchayat No. 9, 10, 12 and 13 and reached North Kalamchoura on the other side of the border at Adampur.
In the evening, BJP held public relations and programs with the public at North Kalamchoura. The party leaders interacted with the voters and sought their support for Hussain. They also highlighted the development works done by the BJP-led government at the centre and the state. They appealed to the people to vote for BJP and ensure the continuity of the welfare and progress of the state.
Later, meetings were held with women at Kamalnagar and Matinagar community halls. The party leaders addressed the issues and concerns of the women and assured them of their empowerment and security under the BJP regime. They also praised the role of women in the fight against COVID-19 and thanked them for their contribution to the society.
At Booth No. 23, state president Rajib Bhattacharjee went door-to-door with former minister Billal Miah, who recently joined BJP, and the Panchayat head to conduct strong public relations. He said that he was confident of BJP’s victory in the by-election as the people were enthusiastic and supportive of BJP’s agenda of development. He also slammed CPM for being an extinct animal and said that they had no ground under their feet. He claimed that CPM will be wiped out from the state after this by-election.
State president Rajib Bhattacharjee asserted that BJP candidate Tafajjal Hussain will win both the by-elections with a huge margin and strengthen the double engine government of the state. He said that this by-election is very important for the stability and growth of the state and urged the people to vote for BJP.
