Biswa Bandhu Sen welcomes 36 voters from CPIM and Congress at Dharmanagar

Agartala, September 11, 2023: The BJP witnessed a boost in its support base in Dharmanagar Municipal Council, as 36 voters from 12 families switched their allegiance from the CPIM and INC on Sunday evening. The defectors were welcomed by the BJP leaders and functionaries at a rally held at Shakti Kendra no.1.

The rally was attended by a large number of BJP supporters and was addressed by MLA of 56-Dharmanagar constituency and Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen. He praised the steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish India’s global stature and highlighted the development-oriented plans of the BJP government in the state. He said that the BJP’s vision and performance have attracted the common people, who are leaving the opposition parties and joining the BJP.

The rally also saw the presence of DMC Chairperson Pradyut De Sarkar, Dharmanagar Mandal President Shyamal Kanti Nath, Baruakandi Gram Panchayat Chief Uma Pal, Councilor Alokesh Aditya and various BJP party functionaries, including OBC Morcha members. They felicitated the new entrants and handed them the BJP flag.

Among those who joined the BJP was former CPIM councilor Siddharth Shankar Deb alias Shanku, who expressed his confidence in the BJP’s leadership and policies. He said that he was impressed by the BJP’s work for the welfare of the people and the nation. He also said that he expected the BJP to win the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections.
