One died in road accident at Bagma

Agartala, 8th October 2023 :  In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded on Sunday morning, a hit-and-run accident on the Agartala-Sabroom National Highway claimed the life of 45-year-old Sumit Pal, a resident of Rajarbagh area in Udaipur.

The mishap occurred at approximately 7:30 am when an unidentified vehicle collided with Sumit’s scooter, bearing the registration number TR 03 F 5159, before speeding away. The collision transpired near the Bagma Forest Beat Office, leaving Sumit fatally injured.

Passers-by who witnessed the shocking event promptly alerted local authorities, prompting a swift response from the police. Additionally, a fire engine dispatched from Udaipur hastened to the scene, facilitating the retrieval of the victim’s body. Sumit was promptly transported to the Gomti District Hospital.

The unfortunate incident has shrouded the Rajarbagh area in sorrow, as the community grapples with the loss of a cherished member. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run, with hopes of swiftly identifying the responsible party.
