Agartala, October 11, 2023: In a momentous occasion for the region, the newly constructed 33 KV substation in Nalchar was officially inaugurated by the Power Minister Ratanlal Nath on Wednesday.

The ambitious project, which began in February 2021, has seen an investment of Rs 12.40 crore and has reached completion over a span of approximately two and a half years.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Killamura site in Nalchar, marking a significant milestone in enhancing the region’s electrical infrastructure.

The new substation is expected to address various electricity-related challenges, including issues of low voltage, for the residents of surrounding areas, encompassing Bairagibazar, Laxmandhepa, Bagabasa, Kaliram, and other village panchayats within Nalchar.

During the inauguration, Power Minister Ratanlal Nath emphasized the pivotal role of electricity in modern civilization, highlighting that it is a driving force behind progress and development.

He further underlined the importance of electricity in realizing the vision of “Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura.” Notably, the minister shared that 8,391 families residing in the specified areas would benefit from the operation of this new substation.

Minister Nath also raised a crucial concern, pointing out that a significant portion of the state’s electricity generation relies on natural gas. He cautioned attendees about the finite nature of this valuable resource and urged them to conserve electricity, underscoring the importance of responsible energy consumption.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the enthusiastic participation of local residents. In addition to Power Minister Ratanlal Nath, Nalchar MLA Kishor Barman, Sabhadipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Datta, Saha-Sabhadipati Pintu Aich, and other officials from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited were present.

The newly inaugurated substation stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure and provide essential services to its residents.
