Agartala, 4th November 2023:   A group of STGT-examiners who appeared for the exam in 2022 staged a protest and submitted a deputation at Shiksha Bhavan here on Saturday. They met Dr Pratyush Ranjan Deb, the Controller of Examination of Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) and demanded their appointment without further delay.

The STGT exam was conducted by TRBT in September 2022 for 230 posts of graduate teachers in various subjects. However, the results have not been declared yet and the recruitment process has been stalled due to a legal dispute over reservation.

A case was filed in the high court challenging the reservation policy of the state government in the STGT exam. The court gave its verdict on the matter, but the TRBT has not implemented it yet, citing legal complications.

The STGT-examiners, who have been waiting for their results for more than a year, expressed their frustration and anger over the situation. They questioned how long the legal complications would last and demanded the intervention of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to resolve the issue.

Dr. Pratyush Ranjan Deb, the Controller of Examination of TRBT, said that they were ready to publish the results as soon as they received the instructions from the higher authorities. He assured the STGT-examiners that their grievances would be addressed soon.
