Governor celebrates Janajati Gaurav Diwas in Dhalai district

Agartala, November 15: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Governor Indra Sena Reddy participated in a virtual event at the District Magistrate’s office of Dhalai district today. He praised Birsa Munda as a popular leader and a national hero who sacrificed his life for the country’s independence. He also launched the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the Prati Ghore Sushasan 2.0 campaign, which aim to spread awareness and provide benefits of various government schemes and services to the people of the district.

The Governor also held a meeting with the District Magistrate and other officials to review the progress of various development programs in the district. He emphasized the need to deliver the central government projects to the common people, especially in the areas of health, education, water, electricity, and road connectivity. He also encouraged the officials to promote animal husbandry in rural areas and ensure proper management of hostels and scholarships for students. He said that he will visit the district again to monitor the implementation of the development programs.

The meeting was attended by the Sabhadipati of Dhalai Zilla Parishad Anadi Sarkar, MLA Shambhulal Chakma, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Chairperson of Ambassa Municipal Council Gopal Sutradhar, Chairperson of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat Prashanta Sinha, Chairman of Raishyabari BAC Pradeep Kumar Jamatia, and representatives from Durga Chowmuhani Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sampa Das, Chairman of Ambassa BAC Parimal Debbarma, People’s Representatives from 3-tier Panchayat, Additional DM of Dhalai district Biswajit Pal, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) from various blocks within the district.
