Friend kills friend over drunken brawl, body found in farm

Agartala, November 25: A man was arrested for allegedly killing his friend over a drunken argument and dumping his body in a farm in Kamalasagar tea garden area. The victim was identified as Ganesh Munda, 27, who lived with his wife and daughter at his in-laws’ house at Kamalasagar tea plantation.

According to the police, Ganesh Munda and the accused Bhakta Munda had been working together for 10 years. On Thursday night, they were working in a marriage house in Debipur area. Around 2 am, on their way home, they stopped at a secluded place in Debipur Farm and had some drinks. They got into a heated argument and Bhakta Munda hit Ganesh Munda on the head with a brick, killing him on the spot. He then dragged his body to a nearby forest and threw it there.

The incident came to light when Ganesh Munda did not return home and the locals started questioning Bhakta Munda. They became suspicious of his answers and informed the Madhupur police station. The police arrested Bhakta Munda on Friday and interrogated him at Madhupur police station. He confessed to the crime and revealed the location of the body. The police registered a case of murder against him and took him along with a dog squad and a forensic team to the spot on Saturday morning. They recovered the body and sent it to Madhupur Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

The incident has created a lot of tension and anger in the area, as the locals demanded justice for the victim and his family.
