Cops nab robber for looting tea plantation worker at Bishalgarh

Agartala, December 23: A robber, identified as Biplab Singh, was arrested by the Bishalgarh police on Friday night for allegedly looting a tea plantation worker, Subrata Sarkar, on Friday evening.

Sarkar was on his way to Harishnagar to pay the wages of the workers of Harish Nagar tea plantation, when Singh stopped him on the road and robbed him of Rs 10,000 in cash, a gold ring and an expensive mobile phone at knife-point.

Sarkar lodged a complaint against Singh at the Bishalgarh police station, following which the police launched an investigation. The police traced Singh to his house and arrested him on Friday night. Singh has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and is being interrogated by the police.
