MP Biplab Kumar Deb sponsors free pilgrimage to Kamakhya temple for Tripura devotees

Agartala, December 25: Former Chief Minister of Tripura and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has sponsored a free pilgrimage to Kamrup Kamakhya Maha Tirtha Shaktipeeth in Guwahati for 43 devotees from Bishalgarh and Amarpur.

The pilgrims left for their destination by bus from the front of Maa Kamakhya temple at Amarpur on Tuesday.

MLA Ranjit Das, who accompanied the pilgrims, said that this was a personal initiative of MP Biplab Kumar Deb to facilitate the devotees to visit the sacred site of Kamrup-Kamakhya.

He said that the pilgrims will return to Tripura on Thursday after offering prayers to Kamakhya Maa on Wednesday.

The MP’s office said that this was the first batch of pilgrims from Tripura who have been sponsored by MP Biplab Kumar Deb.

He plans to arrange similar trips for pilgrims from different districts of the state to visit other pilgrimage sites of the country in the coming days.
