One New COVID-19 Case Reported in Tripura

Agartala, 7th January 2024:  In a recent update from Tripura, after a prolonged period of low COVID-19 cases, the state has reported one new infection.

The individual tested positive for the coronavirus in the latest round of testing conducted by the health department.

As per the health department’s media bulletin, out of 262 samples collected on January 5, 36 were tested using RT-PCR, and 226 were tested using rapid antigen tests. The RT-PCR test confirmed one person’s infection, resulting in a daily infection rate of 0.38 percent. Authorities have emphasized that there is no need for undue concern as the infected individual is reported to be in normal condition.

With this new case, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Tripura has reached 108,496. However, the majority, 107,487 individuals, have successfully recovered, showcasing an impressive recovery rate of 99.07 percent. The current infection rate in the state stands at 3.96 percent, with a mortality rate of 0.87 percent, translating to 939 reported deaths.

It is noteworthy that the recent case has been isolated to the western district, while the remaining seven districts have not reported any new cases. The health department reassures the public that necessary measures are being taken to contain the spread, and the overall situation is under control.

As of now, there are 4049 active COVID-19 patients across the country. Authorities urge citizens to continue following safety protocols, including wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and getting vaccinated to collectively combat the resurgence of the virus. The health department remains vigilant, closely monitoring the situation to ensure the well-being of the community.
