State to celebrate 14th National Voter’s Day tomorrow

Agartala, 24th January 2024:   State is all set to celebrate the 14th National Voter’s Day which will be held tomorrow at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure,’ emphasizing the importance of every citizen exercising their right to vote.

Chief Secretary JK Sinha will preside over the event as the chief guest, adding to the significance of the occasion. The celebration will witness the presence of distinguished guests, including State Election Commissioner Sharadindu Chowdhury, celebrated gymnast Dipa Karmakar, national-level divyang swimmer Sameer Burman, and the state icon of transgender people, Nupur Chakraborty. State Chief Electoral Officer Punit Agarwal will also be in attendance.

The highlight of the event will be the distribution of voter ID cards to the new voters by the esteemed guests. This symbolic gesture aims to encourage and recognize the participation of the younger generation in the democratic process.
