Agartala, 8th March 2024: Pradesh BJP officially started its poll campaign for the Lok Sabha elections today, flagging off two vans equipped with suggestion boxes (“Sujhao Peti”).

Addressing a press conference, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and candidate for the Lok Sabha West Assembly seat, Biplab Kumar Deb, announced that the suggestion box would serve as a platform for people to provide input on the party’s manifesto for building a new India.

“For the advancement of our youth, infrastructure, farmers, and women, as well as overall development, we have sought suggestions from individuals representing various segments of society. The inputs have been gathered from youths, women, farmers, and people from all walks of life to contribute to the development of the country. It is crucial to note that these suggestions should not be geared towards personal benefits such as job postings, transfer requests, or the consideration of specific applications. Instead, the focus should be on nation-building. This marks the first instance of such an initiative taking place in the state”, said Deb.

Deb called on the CPIM and Congress to contribute their suggestions to the process.

He urged party workers to approach the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the same determination that led to the BJP’s victory from 2014 to 2018 when they ousted the CPM from power in Tripura. Deb dismissed the notion that the BJP had an easy path in the elections following the alliance with Tipra Motha.

Taking a swipe at the CPIM and Congress, Deb accused them of nearly becoming extinct in Tripura and alleged that the Communists did not prioritize the prosperity of the state’s people.
