Four from Dehradun killed, 2 injured as SUV rams into pole

 Four persons, including three women, from Dehradun were killed and two others injured when an SUV collided with a pole in Kanth area of Moradabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, a police officer said here.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sandeep Kumar Meena said that Atul Rastogi (25), a resident of 13 G locality under Dadipur police station in Dehradun, along with his family and relatives had left for Mughalpur in Moradabad late on Saturday night. “Total six persons were travelling in the SUV,” he said.

He said that near a railway gate in Rasoolpur the SUV collided with the police killing four persons, including three women on the spot. “The deceased have been identified as Arti Rastogi (45), Yash Rastogi (22), Ashika Rastogi (18) and Sangita Rastogi (35),” he said.

The SP said that Atul Rastogi and his sister Manvi Rastogi (20) were seriously injured in the incident and have been admitted to the district joint hospital. “It is being suspected that the incident took place as Atul, who was driving the SUV, dozed off,” he said.
