BRS MLA and ex-minister Kadiyam Srihari, along with his daughter Kadiyam Kavya, who recently withdrew as the BRS MP candidate, dealt a significant blow to the BRS party by joining the Congress.
The joining ceremony took place in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge Deepadas Munshi at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jubilee Hills on Sunday, where they were welcomed into the party with a symbolic scarf.
Srihari expressed his reluctance for his daughter to contest under a party deemed losing, leading to their decision to change the party.
A meeting held on Saturday with Station Ghanpur constituency leaders saw overwhelming support for their decision to join the Congress, with speculation arising that Kavya might contest from Warangal, potentially positioning Srihari favorably within the government.
