Government to set up AIIMS hospital :  Chief Minister

Agartala: August 27. Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday announce that the state government has taken initiative to set up a branch of AIIMS hospital in the state.CM Dr Saha made this announcement while addressing inauguration the 17th foundation day of Tripura Medical College and BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital.

“Initiatives have been taken to set up AIIMS hospitals in the state. The establishment of AIIMS hospital will improve the standard of treatment for medical students as well as doctors in the state”, the CM said.He further said that Tripura Medical College is not behind other medical colleges in any state.

“This medical college has the facilities of advanced infrastructure, medical services, experienced doctors, health workers, oxygen plant. In the coming days, the state government will take more initiatives in the development of this medical college”, he said.It is to be mentioned that Dr Saha has served a professor of Dental department in the Tripura Medical College and BR Ambedkar teaching Hospital.

In the event, the Chief Minister said that medical students should not only study and doctors should not only serve patients. “You have to work for the society too. Only then will it be possible to build a better Tripura with everyone’s cooperation”, the CM said.Commemorating the persons associated with this medical college, the Chief Minister said, today the 17th foundation day of this college is being celebrated. Many have contributed to the establishment of this college. The Chief Minister suggested to prepare an e-book on those who have contributed to the establishment of the college. It is very proud of the state.
