Agartala, 1st April 2024: A 35-year-old man identified as Bimal Sarkar was arrested for allegedly attempting to break into an ATM machine near Usha Bazar in the capital city, has raised serious concerns. Sarkar, who had a history of involvement in similar activities according to his family, was admitted to GB Hospital where he ultimately passed away under mysterious circumstances.
Sarkar’s ordeal began when police visited his residence in Lankamura on the night of Wednesday last, instructing his family to bring him to the police station the following day. As per routine, Sarkar was taken into custody by authorities upon reaching the Ramnagar police outpost on Thursday. Subsequently, he was sent to jail as per court orders. However, his health deteriorated during the night, prompting his transfer to IGM Hospital and eventually to GB Hospital.
According to Sarkar’s family, they rushed to GB Hospital upon learning of his condition, only to find him unconscious. Despite efforts to secure bail, Sarkar’s health worsened, allegedly due to complications from medical treatment, resulting in his demise.
The circumstances surrounding Sarkar’s death have led to allegations of negligence on the part of both the medical staff and law enforcement. The family claims that neither the doctors nor the police have been forthcoming about the cause of death, exacerbating their grief and suspicion.
Demanding a thorough investigation into the matter, the deceased’s family seeks justice and accountability for the untimely demise of Bimal Sarkar.
