Agartala, 18th April 2024: Two individuals sustained serious injuries following a collision involving a bike and a scooter near Manpathar Police Outpost. Eyewitnesses from the local community alerted the fire department, prompting swift response.
The collision took place on Thursday around 3:35 PM local time on National Highway No. 8, near the jurisdiction of Manpathar Outpost Police Station under Santirbazar sub-division. The vehicles involved were identified as a pulsar bike bearing registration number TR08E-5946 and a scooter registered under number TR08E-9589.
As a result of the collision, both the bike rider and the scooter driver were thrown onto the national highway, sustaining severe injuries. Responding promptly to the emergency, personnel from the Santirbazar fire brigade arrived at the scene. They provided immediate assistance, rescuing the injured parties and transporting them to South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar for urgent medical attention.
Among the injured, one individual is identified as a 17-year-old youth, while the other is named Bridges Debbarma (17) and Samson Kalai (18). Following standard procedures, authorities seized the accident-prone bike and initiated an investigation into the incident’s root cause. The Manpathar police outpost staff have launched a thorough inquiry to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
The incident underscores the importance of road safety measures and highlights the need for heightened awareness among motorists to prevent such accidents in the future. Authorities urge all road users to adhere to traffic regulations and exercise caution to avoid similar incidents.
