People to support BJP and return to power with two-third majority in 2023, claimed JP Nadda

Agartala, August 29, 2022: BJP national president JP Nadda on Monday claimed that the people of Tripura has full faith on this saffron party-led government and will make it return to power with two-third majority in the assembly elections in 2023.

Speaking to reporters here at BJP state headquarters on Monday noon, Nadda said that the CPIM and Congress governments in the past have never initiated any developmental activities across the state.

“The previous CPIM-led government in its 35-year long regime, women were not empowered, tribal populace were ignored and youths were exploited. During the Congress regime, terrorism, infiltration, insurgency, bandh and blockade were promoted, business of drugs smuggling was thriving and corruption was the order of the day, caste-tensions were created”, he added.

He said “I said all these to remind the people of Tripura about the dark days they had spent days during the previous Congress and CPIM governments’ regimes and also remember the good bright days during the BJP government’s regime in past four and half years”.

“Tripura has reached newer heights of development under the leadership of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and incumbent Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state shined as part of ‘Asthalaxmi’. Developmental aspects include huge investment in infrastructure, acquiring space in  industrial development, promotion of sports and adventure sports, encouraging organic farming and immense focus on tourism. Moreover, Tripura has gave a long jump with international connectivity after state and national connectivity as the state has become the gateway to South East Asian Countries, new feathers of connectivity will add soon with starting of Maitri Setu and Indo-Bangla Railway Link”, Nadda told reporters.

He also said “Under BJP government’s regime in Tripura, women empowerment achieved. 33 percent of seats are reserved for women in government jobs. The Self-Help Groups (SHGs) numbers has been increased by seven times. The government has initiated marketing, branding, training, skill development, upgradation, and updation to convert SHGs into reality. Moreover, state talents with various skills will be utilised, not exploited under Mukhyamantri Sramik Kalyan Yojana. Investing Rs 200 crore, national forensic science camp to be opened which is the direct benefit under double-engine governments. The Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport to become international soon. The per capita income has increased by 30 percent and a person’s annual income is Rs 1.30 crore on an average. The state budget has increased to Rs 27000 crore from 12600 crore. Many more initiatives have been taken by the BJP-led government.””I held separate meeting with BJP MLAs, ministers, tribal MLAs, MDCs, IPFT MLAs, and core committee members yesterday. Elaborate discussion took place on various matters. BJP will actively work for the overall peace and development in the coming days,” he added.
