CITU places deputation on 11 charter point demands

Agartala Aug 29: CITU Tripura Unit on Monday placed mass deputation to the labour commissioner on the basis of eleven charter point demands.A grand rally traversed various routes of the capital city sloganeering against the ruling government and later placed deputation to the labour commissioner.

Addressing the reporters senior CPI-M leader Manik Dey lambasted the BJP government for deceiving the people with fake promises.

“In these 4.5 yrs of BJP governance not a single rupee has been increased in the wages of the labourers and workers that was supposed to be increased every six months. Moreover with the ensuing Durga Puja festival there is no news of bonus for the workers yet”, said Manik Dey.

CITU demanded immediate release of wages combined with increment that was supposed to be given in these 4.5 yrs and festival bonus.Further demands have been raised for slashing of prices of essential commodities including petrol, diesel, cooking gas, 200 days of work and Rs 340 wage per day under REGA.
