Dy CM accuses CPIM, Cong for using tiprasa for vote bank politics

Agartala: August 29.  Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday lashed out at the CPIM and Congress for using the tiprasa (indigenous) people for vote bank politics.While addressing Janajati Janasabha in Khumulwng Deputy Chief Minister said for the first any state government has decided to provide more power to the district council.

“It is a historic day as national president of BJP has started his journey for the election of Tripura from Khumulwng. Khumulwng is for everyone. We also want thansa for our people and for our society. We also want to give more power to the district council and to strengthen it. We have provided double fund for the development of district council than the then CPIM government”, he said.

He further said that a section of people has spread rumors that as BJP is not in power in the district council, they are not providing enough fund.“Many people are saying that as BJP is not in power in district council they are not providing enough funds for the development of the district council. This is not true. The truth is we have given double fund then CPIM regime”.“CPIM and Congress used tiprasa for vote bank politics. We came for the real development of tiprasa. Many parties came and raised slogans but did nothing for tiprasa. But this is the first government which has decided to give more power to the district council”, the minister added.
