Candidates shun bus travel for Tripura State Cooperative Bank exam post-Assam accident

Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 3rd May 2024 : In an unexpected turn of events, candidates for the Tripura State Cooperative Bank examination have opted out of the provided bus transportation. The bus, scheduled to depart from Agartala’s TRTC at noon on Friday, remained empty as no examinees arrived to board it for their examination in Silchar.

The recent bus accident in Assam on May 1 appears to have significantly impacted the candidates’ willingness to travel by bus, leading to a collective decision to seek alternative transportation. Despite previous confirmations from some Ambasa candidates to travel by bus, a last-minute change of plans was communicated to the bank authorities, with all candidates now holding train tickets for their journey.

Traffic Supervisor Dilip Chandra Das, overseeing the bus arrangements, expressed his disappointment at the situation. He stated that while the bus was ready to transport the candidates to Silchar for their online examination, the absence of passengers has led to a change in plans. The bus will now proceed through Ambassa and Dharmanagar, and Mr. Das has extended an offer to any candidate still wishing to travel by bus to join the journey. The bank authorities are currently assessing the situation and considering the candidates’ preferences for future arrangements.
