Thieves ransack tea seller’s residence at Bishalgarh, Police launches investigation

Agartala, 31st May 2024:  A brazen burglary has left residents of Lakshmibil near Narimangal School in shock as thieves targeted the home of a local tea seller. The victim Uttam Deb recounted the harrowing incident revealing that he had left his residence temporarily to tend to his ailing sister-in-law late on Thursday evening.

Taking advantage of the absence of the homeowners, the burglars broke into the house leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Deb’s son, returning home later, was alarmed to find the door ajar and the interior in disarray. Upon seeing the theft, he promptly notified his parents.

According to Deb, the burglars made off with all valuables, including gold ornaments, leaving the family distraught. The incident has sparked concern among locals, prompting calls for heightened security measures in the area.

Bishalgarh police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, aiming to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen property. Meanwhile, residents remain on edge, wary of further incidents and urging authorities to ensure the safety and security of their community.
