Job aspirants demand release of JRBT merit list, stage stir

Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 24th June 2024 : In a significant show of discontent, job-seeking young women staged a protest in front of the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) office on Monday. Their frustration stems from the four-year delay in the release of the Group D exam merit list result, a wait that has pushed them towards an uncertain future.

Despite attending interviews years ago, these aspiring candidates have yet to see any movement on their job applications. This delay, which they attribute to extreme negligence by the concerned department, has forced them out of their homes and onto the streets. The protesters demanded immediate action, calling for the results to be released without further delay. They highlighted the critical nature of their situation, emphasizing that a swift announcement could significantly alleviate their suffering.

The young women addressed their pleas to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Labor Minister Tinku Roy, urging them to ensure the prompt release of the merit list and subsequent appointments. Their concerns are compounded by the looming  Panchayat elections, which could further delay the process if announced soon.

The protesters argue that announcing the results today would bring clarity and direction to their lives. Those who secure jobs can look forward to a stable future, while those who do not can redirect their efforts towards other employment opportunities. The current state of limbo, they feel, is both unnecessary and harmful. Police intervention was required to manage the situation as tensions rose.
