Eight people injured in collision between two vehicles near Atharomura hills

Agartala, 1st July 2024:   In a tragic incident on National Highway No. 8 at Atharomora Hills near Mungiakami police station, about eight passengers sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a Max car and a truck. The collision took place when the Max car traveling from Teliamura to Ambassa collided head-on with a truck while negotiating a turn in the 36-mile area.

Local witnesses promptly alerted the Teliamura fire department, which swiftly responded to rescue the injured passengers. The victims, including the Max car’s driver, were rushed to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for urgent medical treatment. According to reports from the scene, a passenger described the number of injured as between seven to eight individuals.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with both vehicles involved impounded for further examination.
