CM lauds medical team for successful kidney transplant

Agartala, 8th July 2024:  Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha extended his heartfelt congratulations to all levels of medical staff involved in the first ever kidney transplant surgery, including doctors and nurses.

In his congratulatory message, the Chief Minister who is also health minister highlighted the monumental nature of this achievement, stating, “Today will be marked as a milestone in the history of medical services in our state, which would have seemed impossible even a few days ago. It is only as a result of the continuous steps taken by the state government to improve medical services that complex surgeries like kidney transplants are possible in the state today.”

The successful surgery is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the medical team at the Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha emphasized the capability of the state’s medical professionals, saying, “It is possible to treat complex diseases in the state, and the doctors and medical workers of the state have proved it right again.” The Chief Minister also assured that the state government will continue its efforts to enhance medical services. “The state government will continue to make continuous efforts to improve medical services in the future,” he affirmed. Additionally, he wished a speedy recovery to both the kidney donor and the recipient.
