Agartala, 27th July 2024: The mystery surrounding the death of 26-year-old housewife Kajali Deb from Pragati Road in Dharmanagar has taken a new twist prompting a thorough investigation and raising numerous questions. On the night of July 25, Kajali was rushed to North Tripura District Hospital at Dharmanagar by her family members after reportedly committing suicide at her father-in-law’s house. Tragically, doctors declared Kajali dead upon arrival. Present at the hospital were Kajlai’s husband Biswa Das, brother-in-law Bipra Das, father-in-law Birendra Das and mother-in-law.
Kajali Deb’s parents residing at Nayapara Auto Stand in Dharmanagar were notified of the tragic news. Initially, they failed to provide any specific information, but the following day, they filed a case against Kajali’s in-laws at Dharmanagar Police Station alleging conspiracy and murder. Based on their complaint, police arrested Bipra Das under sections 212/203(1)/3/(5) of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, Kajali’s husband Biswa Das fell ill and is currently undergoing treatment at District Hospital under police surveillance. Despite the gravity of the accusations, Kajali’s father-in-law, a retired teacher has not been arrested due to his age.
In a statement, Birendra Das revealed that on the night of Kajali’s death, his sons Biswa and Bipra had a heated argument over a family issue. “I said some harsh words to Kajali during the argument,” Birendra admitted. “It appears that she committed suicide later that night, without anyone’s knowledge.”
Kajali’s mother Shipra Deb provided further insights into the tragic event. “When I called Kajali in the evening, as I do every day, she did not answer,” Shipra recounted. “Even when my husband called Biswa, he didn’t pick up. Around 8 PM, Kajali finally sent a message saying she would call after eating. But at 11 PM, when I called again, she begged me to come and take her away. She said she couldn’t stay at her husband’s house anymore. I assured her I would bring her back the next day.”
The sudden and suspicious nature of Kajali’s death has left her family and the community demanding answers. The police are diligently working to uncover the truth behind the incident. If foul play is confirmed, there is a strong call for exemplary punishment for those responsible. The investigation continues as everyone seeks to unveil the real mystery behind Kajali Deb’s tragic death.
