Protest lodged over Vinesh exit: Mandaviya

 Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Wednesday that the Indian Olympic Association has lodged a strong protest with the International Olympic Committee over the disqualification of wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Paris Olympics.

In a short reply in Lok Sabha, Mandaviya said, “Today her weight was found at 50 kg 100 grams and she was disqualified. The Indian Olympic Association has lodged a strong protest with the International Olympic Committee.”

“IOA President P T Usha is in Paris, the Prime Minister spoke to her and asked her to take necessary action… The government provided every facility to her including personal staff,” he added.
