Agartala, 10th August 2024:   Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh, three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in Agartala. The individuals, identified as Alamin Jewel, Mohammad Sirajdul Sheikh, and Fatema Begum, hail from Sunamganj and Rajshahi in Bangladesh.

Acting on a tip-off, the East Agartala police arrested the trio from the Chandrapur area of the capital on Friday. Initial suspicions arose due to their incoherent responses during questioning, leading to their arrest. Preliminary investigations suggest that they had entered the state illegally.

The police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the exact reasons for their entry into India, including the specific border points and timing of their crossing. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
