Agartala, 6th September 2024: Teachers, the architects of society, play a pivotal role as mentors for future generations. To honor their invaluable contributions, India celebrates Teacher’s Day on September 5. This date marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, born in 1888, a distinguished philosopher, researcher, teacher, and professor who became the second President of India in 1962. When his students sought permission to celebrate his birthday, Dr. Radhakrishnan requested that the day be observed as Teacher’s Day to recognize the dignity and respect of teachers.

On this special occasion, distinguished educators across India are felicitated by the President, and at the state level, the Governor honors them for their contributions. In Agartala, the Town Hall hosted a ceremony to honor outstanding teachers from the state.
