Agartala, 6th September 2024:   In a bid to keep the city free from traffic congestion, the Traffic Department has initiated a comprehensive operation targeting vehicles without proper documentation. The operation, led by Traffic Police SP Sudeshna Bhattacharya, took place on Friday at the GB Bazar area here. Additional SP Sudhambika R, Deepak Kumar Sarkar, and other officials were also present during the operation.

SP Sudeshna Bhattacharya highlighted the rampant issue of indiscriminate parking of cars, motorbikes, scooters, and other vehicles across the city. “Today’s campaign aims to alleviate the persistent traffic jams caused by illegal parking in various parts of the capital,” she stated.

The operation focused on fining and prosecuting vehicles lacking proper documents, with cases being registered against the offenders. The Traffic Department’s efforts are expected to significantly improve the flow of traffic and reduce congestion in the city.
