455 PP Shelter Kits provided to 455 most vulnerable families in Gomati district

Agartala, 18th September 2024:  Since August 18, 2024, Tripura has been grappling with relentless rainfall that has triggered severe flooding and landslides across multiple districts, leading to a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented scale.

Caritas India in collaboration with Janna Unnayan Samiti Tripura (JUST), conducted rapid need assessment in 6 villages under Amarpur and Korbook blocks in Gomati district. 

The assessment report reveals that the shelter and wash sectors emerged as the key intervention areas.  As per the assessment report Caritas India and JUST proposed to Donatekart for the support of 455 pp kits for the most vulnerable people in 13 villages.

It was on 15th, 16th& 17th September the team had distributed pp shelter kit in 13 villages in Amarpur and Karbook blocks under Gomati district. The pp shelter kits were donated by Amazon through Donatekart and implemented by Caritas India and JUST.

The pp shelter kits consisted of (Blanket x1, bed sheet x 1, bathing Soap x 4, Cloth Wash Bar x 2, Sanitary Pads x 2 (14 pcs), Nylon Mosquito Net x 1, Recycle Plastic Ground Sheet x 1, Recycle Plastic Tarpaulin Sheet x1, Dental kit x 4, Bucket x1, Rope x 1)
