Agartala, September 13, 2022: CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury on Tuesday said that the people of state has started isolating the BJP-led government and will be ousted from power in 2023 assembly election.

Speaking to reporters at CPIM state headquarters here on Tuesday evening, Chaudhury said that the BJP state president JP Nadda, who visited the state last months claimed that the state have no record of political violence while the central government NCRB’s report revealed that the state recorded highest number of political violence among the 7 north eastern states.

He alleged that the ruling party is utilizing the treasury of the state government for holding programmes in delivering their developmental initiatives taken in last four and half years. “Even the ruling party is forcing the common people to attend those programmes. If they deny to do so, they are threatened to be deprived of MGNREGA and TUEP facilities or they would not get the instalments for PMAY, etc. The people are being compelled to attend party programmes”, he added.

Accusing the police administration of playing a pivotal role in supporting the alleged BJP-backed hooligans, CPIM state secretary said “We scheduled to hold mass deputation programmes in 58 blocks, 20 ULBs and few SDM offices across the state. We sought permission about 5-10 days ago from the day of the programme. But police remained silent in most of the places while in some, police asked to reduce the length of the route”, he added.

Chaudhury said that the opposition party supporters throughout the state are facing attacks, vandalizing their houses, but police is super active in supporting the ruling party-backed hooligans. “Police is playing a partisan role in supporting the ruling BJP. They are found to be super active in supporting the ruling party-backed hooligans to disturbing the law and order situation across the state. If it is not stopped, people have become ready and situation would become dire in the coming days”, Chaudhury alerted the Home administration of Tripura.
