Agartala, 26th September 2024: In a vibrant celebration of culture and sports, Janjati Kalyan Minister Bikash Debbarma emphasized the importance of holistic development for students at the inauguration of the state-level Kala Utsav. The event took place at the Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) under the initiative of the Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutional Society, saw enthusiastic participation from students across the state.
“Apart from studies, the students of Ekalavya Model Residential School should also come forward in cultural practices and sports. Cultural practices and sports play a supportive role in the mental formation of students,” stated Minister Debbarma during his inaugural speech. His remarks underscored the critical role of extracurricular activities in shaping well-rounded individuals.
The Kala Utsav hosted at the Dasarath Deb Memorial Hall in Suparibagan also featured Cultural and Literacy Fests. The event was a showcase of talent, with music, dance, and drama competitions highlighting the artistic prowess of the students.
Minister Debbarma proudly announced, “The state already has six Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and the construction of six more is in progress.” He expressed optimism about the future, saying, “I hope that the students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools will shine the name of the state in the field of sports and culture in the coming days.”
The event saw participation from students of all six existing Ekalavya Model Residential Schools in the state. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as students competed in various cultural events, showcasing their skills and creativity.
