Agartala, 22nd October 2024: The Khowai police have successfully arrested three individuals involved in a theft case, recovering stolen goods in the process. The incident took place on the night of October 14, when thieves broke into the home of Anurai Debbarma, a resident of Athaibari in Khowai and made off with mobile phones and gold ornaments.
During the investigation, officers from Baijalbari Police Station and Khowai Police Station worked diligently to track down the culprits. “We were able to identify one member of the thief’s group through various sources,” stated an officer from the Khowai police. Acting on this information, the police first arrested Akash Debbarma. Subsequent interrogation led to the capture of his two accomplices.
The police managed to recover some of the stolen gold jewelry and mobile phones from the thieves. However, additional items are still missing, as some stolen jewelry had already been sold to gold shops. “We are confident that Anurai Debbarma will soon recover the rest of the jewelry,” assured a police representative.
