Agartala, 2nd November 2024: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury held a review meeting with officials of the Tourism Department at the State Guest House on Saturday. Representatives from various agencies involved in tourism activities were also present.
The meeting focused on the progress of development activities under the Asian Development Fund and the Swadesh Darshan Project of the Government of India. Discussions included the completion status of ongoing projects and timelines for pending developments.
A key highlight was the transformation of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur. “By February 2025, the Mata Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur will be available in a completely new form,” Minister Sushant Chowdhury announced. He expressed optimism that the revamped temple would attract more visitors, boosting Tripura’s position on the tourism map.
Minister Chowdhury also noted the positive impact of appointing former India captain Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador of Tripura tourism. “Since Sourav Ganguly’s appointment, the income in the tourism sector has increased manifold,” he said. However, he acknowledged that the current national politics of Bangladesh has posed challenges to Tripura’s tourism sector.
The review meeting underscored the commitment to enhancing Tripura’s tourism infrastructure and addressing any obstacles to its growth.
