Agartala, 5th November 2024: The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India has been organizing ‘Kala Utsav’ since 2015 to nurture and showcase the artistic talents of school students. This year, a two-day ‘Kala Utsav’ under the initiative took place at Rajarshi Kalakshetra organized by the Department of Education.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the 2024-25 district-level ‘Kala Utsav’. The event was graced by MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumdar, Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Mayor Shital Chandra Majumdar and District Education Officer Bikash Nath.
The ‘Kala Utsav’ aims to awaken and nurture the cultural talents of students alongside their academic studies. Addressing the event, Finance Minister Singha Roy highlighted the state government’s commitment to improving the education system. He noted, “There has been a radical change in the education system in the state, and the quality of education has increased significantly.”
The festival saw active participation from boys and girls from different schools in the Gomati district. New approaches are being implemented in schools to shape the future of students through such initiatives. “This ‘Kala Utsav’ is organized to help students develop their talents and build a future life,” added Minister Singha Roy.
The students selected from the district-level ‘Kala Utsav’ will have the opportunity to participate in the state-based art festival in the coming days. The initiative highlights the importance of promoting arts in education and provides students with a platform to showcase their artistic talents.
