Four women injured in road accident near Lembutali ONGC Depot

Agartala, 9th November 2024:   A severe road accident near the Lembutali ONGC Depot on Saturday evening left four women in critical condition. The incident took place when an auto-rickshaw bearing the registration number TR01M-2955 was traveling from the Amtali area to Madhupur.

It is reported that the auto-rickshaw swerved to avoid a large vehicle near the TSR camp and subsequently fell into a culvert hole. The passengers along with the driver were trapped inside when the auto-rickshaw overturned and landed in a small river.

Local residents and pedestrians, alarmed by the screams of the victims, rushed to the scene to rescue the passengers. The injured women and the driver were promptly taken to the Madhupur Hospital.

Auto driver Abhijit Saha explained, “The wheel of the auto-rickshaw fell into a pothole, causing the vehicle to overturn and fall into the river. Unfortunately, two of the four women are in serious condition.”
