Agartala, 3rd December 2024: In a commendable move to recognize the tireless efforts of ASHA workers and facilitators, the Dhalai District Health and Family Welfare Department organized an award distribution ceremony on Tuesday. The event took place at the conference hall of Ambassa Panchayat Raj Training Institute (PRTI).
The ceremony was inaugurated by Ambassa Municipal Council Chairperson Pratima Malakar with Dhalai district Chief Medical Officer Dr. Apollo Kalai, District Nodal Officer Dr. Sudhir Debbarma, and State ASHA Program Manager Rajib Ghosh in attendance. On this occasion, five outstanding ASHA workers and three ASHA facilitators from Dhalai district were honored for their exemplary service.
Speaking at the event, Chairperson Pratima Malakar praised the dedication of ASHA workers in the region. “The way ASHA workers are providing services to the people in every village is truly commendable. We hope they continue to diligently bring the health services of the State Health Department to the people in the coming days,” she said.
State ASHA Program Manager Rajib Ghosh highlighted the relentless efforts of ASHA workers in ensuring healthcare reaches the remotest villages. “ASHA workers make numerous demands to the government to improve their services, and we are committed to acknowledging and addressing their needs. We hope they will continue to work with full dedication to provide health services to the villages,” he remarked.
The event highlighted the importance of the role played by ASHA workers and facilitators in the health sector. “There are a total of 1,106 ASHA workers and 78 ASHA facilitators in Dhalai district, tirelessly serving every village, including the most remote ones,” Ghosh added.
This recognition ceremony not only honored the hard work of ASHA workers but also motivated them to continue their invaluable contributions to the community’s health and welfare. The state health department’s ongoing support aims to further empower these frontline health workers in their mission to provide essential healthcare services.
