Agartala, 3rd December 2024:   The Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) has abruptly canceled its planned deputation program on December 5, which was organized to protest against the construction of a five-star hotel in the old Raj Bhavan. The decision was announced by the organization’s leaders at a press conference today.

A member of the organization explained the reason for the cancellation, stating, “It was decided to hold a deputation program on December 5 by YTF in protest against the construction of a five-star hotel in the old Raj Bhavan. However, the program has been abruptly canceled because the former supremo of Tipra Motha and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman is not in the state. He has gone out of the state for work. Therefore, the program has been postponed.”

Despite the cancellation, the Tipra Women Federation has organized a protest procession from Swami Vivekananda Maidan tomorrow to continue the protest against the construction of the hotel. The procession will culminate in a deputation to the Tourism Department.

The leaders emphasized the importance of the protest, highlighting the community’s opposition to the proposed construction project. The situation remains dynamic as the organizations continue to voice their concerns and seek a resolution.
