Body of missing man found floating in Gomati river

Agartala, 9th December 2024:    A missing person’s body was recovered from the Gomati River in the Shalgarh Amtali area under Kakraban police station on Monday morning, causing a stir in the locality. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Samir Saha had been missing since Thursday evening. 

According to Samir’s younger brother Dipankar Saha, he had left for the market around 6:30 PM but never returned. After an unsuccessful search by family members, a missing person complaint was lodged at Kakraban police station. 

On Monday morning, locals found a body floating in the river and immediately alerted the police. Officers reached the scene, retrieved the body, and sent it for autopsy. 

Family members revealed that Samir had been struggling with mental depression for a long time. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
