55-year old man dies in lorry-bike collision at Belonia

Agartala, 18th December 2024:   A tragic accident took place this morning in the Chittamara area under the Belonia police station, resulting in the death of Gopal Debnath (55). Debnath, who was on his way to a brick kiln was crushed by a lorry while riding his bike.

The incident has caused widespread panic in the area. According to reports, Debnath left his house on a bike bearing registration number TR08G4913 and headed towards the brick kiln. Upon reaching the old market in Belonia, a lorry bearing registration number TR01SE1750 collided with him, killing him on the spot. Debnath was a manager at a brick kiln in the Chittamara area.

The police quickly responded to the scene, recovering the body and transporting it to Belonia Hospital for an autopsy. An investigation into the case has been initiated, and the driver of the lorry has been arrested. The tragic death of Gopal Debnath has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire area.
