Atal Bihari Vajpayee works to enrich the rural economy of India: Tinku

Agartala, 25th December 2024:   Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy today said that when Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of the country, he began working with renewed enthusiasm to enrich the rural economy of India.

“In Indian politics, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an ideal man, akin to Bhishma. He launched the Antyodaya Yojana for the socio-economic upliftment of the rural people of the country. The people of the entire nation are now benefiting from it,” said Tinku Roy while inaugurating the two-day second Atal Poetry and Literature Festival-2024 at Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar today.

At the event, the Sports Minister emphasized that Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetic talent was also remarkable.

“He envisioned a beautiful India through his poetry. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister, he worked with new enthusiasm to enrich the rural economy of the country. Following the path shown by him, the nation is now progressing towards establishing a developed India by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he stated.

It is noteworthy that this two-day Atal Poetry and Literature Festival will be held on December 25 and 26 at Unakoti Kalakshetra.

The festival will feature multilingual poetry readings for two days, and seminars on various literary topics on the second day. Poet Milan Kanti Dutta received the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival.

“Atal Bihari Vajpayee played a crucial role not only in developing the rural economy but also in expanding education at the village level through the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. To enrich the rural economy, the Prime Minister formulated a quadrilateral scheme to connect cities through the Gram Sadak Yojana,” he said.
