Agartala, 1st January 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today approved financial assistance of Rs 70,000 on the spot from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to three individuals who brought their requests for medical assistance.
On the first day of the New Year 2025, Dr. Saha listened to the grievances of people during the ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ program at his official residence.He emphasized his renewed commitment to addressing public concerns.
“On the first day of the New Year 2025, I conducted the 37th edition of the ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ program. After listening to the issues raised by people from various parts of the state, I passed necessary instructions to the officials concerned to take appropriate steps,” Dr. Saha said.
During this edition, the Chief Minister took sincere steps to resolve the grievances of attendees, most of whom sought medical assistance. As the Health Minister, Dr. Saha immediately approved financial aid of Rs 70,000 in total from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to three individuals with urgent medical needs.
One Beli Malakar of Durgapur, Kailashahar, whose husband is a daily wage worker, sought medical assistance for her 22-year-old son suffering from a kidney-related disease. Due to financial constraints, the family was unable to afford his surgery. After verifying the necessary medical documents, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 30,000 from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and instructed Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, to provide further support.
Sushanta Taran of Joynagar, Agartala, a private sector worker, requested assistance for his wife, who has been battling cancer for four years. His modest income made it difficult to cover her medical expenses.
After reviewing the case, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 35,000 from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Narayan Gupta of Simna who requires thrice-weekly dialysis due to chronic kidney disease, sought financial assistance as his family faced severe financial hardship. The Chief Minister approved Rs 5,000 from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In addition to these cases, the Chief Minister provided assistance to others, including Arnika Debbarma of Simna, Sonia Akhtar of Amtali in Sepahijala district, and Anita Rishi Das of Aralia.
During the event, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary to the Chief Minister , Tapas Roy, Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, Dr. S. Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Cancer Hospital, Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury, Managing Director of National Health Mission Tripura were present.
