Agartala, 1st January 2025: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today said that the state government and the Tourism Development Corporation are working on specific plans for the development of the tourism industry.
“The development of the tourism industry is a priority area of the state government. The government has given priority to the development of the tourism industry to create new employment opportunities”, he said.
Today, Tourism Minister Chowdhury said this while inaugurating 10 paddle boats and 2 state-of-the-art air-conditioned Urbania bus services at the Ujjayanta Palace reservoir for the entertainment of tourists.
On the occasion, the Tourism Minister also said that the state government and the Tourism Development Corporation are working on specific plans for the development of the tourism industry.
“As a result, it will have a far-reaching impact in the state in the coming days”, he said.The Tourism Minister officially launched the paddle boat and Urbania bus services by waving the flag at the event. On the occasion, Minister Chowdhury wished the people of the state on the English New Year and said, today is a very beautiful and happy day.
“On this beautiful day, a new feather has been added to the continuous development of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation. The Tourism Development Corporation will work with more such new ideas and plans in the coming days to develop the tourism industry. Urbania bus service has been launched for the convenience of tourists from the state and outside the state to visit the attractive tourist centers of the state. This modern bus service will make the tourist centers of the state more attractive for tourists”, he said.
Rs 57 lakh 86 thousand have been spent on purchasing these two state-of-the-art buses. These two buses have been purchased through the Government of India’s Gem portal. The buses have been manufactured by Force Motor Company. Each bus has a seating capacity of 17 passengers. The Tourism Minister said that 50 state-of-the-art boats have also been purchased for boating in the water bodies of various tourist centers of the state. Director of the Tourism Department Prashant Badal Negi, Joint Director Aniruddha Roy was present.
