Agartala Sept 22: Protesting against the ruling BJP led attack in CPI-M’s rally in Hapania area of capital city on Thursday, CPI-M activists gheraoed Police Headquarters. CPI-M leaders were initially told that the SP will meet them but they had to wait for a long time.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Manik Sar asked the party activists to avoid violence and clash and not to fall into the trap of the BJP miscreants.Reportedly, during the opposition CPI-M’s meeting in Hapania on Thursday, BJP backed miscreants held an attack on the CPI-M activists. Later, CPI-M workers united to fight back the miscreants.However, police controlled the situation but failed to attack any of the miscreants yet.
Talking to the reporter’s senior CPI-M leader Manik Dey condemned the role of police for remaining a silent spectator. He added, Dr Manik Saha after assuming the chair of Tripura Chief Minister had promised to restore law and order in the state also assuring the safety and security of the opposition political parties. But repeated incident oif violence and attack on opposition has continued in the state.
