Agartala, 3rd January 2025: A woman and a child were arrested this morning by the Dharmanagar police in the West Chandrapur area.
After receiving a tip-off, a police raid led by Officer Paritosh Pal narrowly missed apprehending three Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian accomplice who managed to escape. However, the police successfully detained a Bangladeshi woman Nazma Begum (35), and her six-year-old son Robiul Islam.
Reports indicate that several Bangladeshi nationals had taken refuge at the residence of Nasir Ali in West Chandrapur for the past three to four days. Nazma Begum admitted during police questioning that Nasir had assisted them in crossing the border and provided shelter. The Dharmanagar police are conducting searches in various locations to arrest Nasir Ali and the escaping Bangladeshis.
