Agartala, 5th January 2025: As many as 17 persons sustained injuries after a mini truck carrying a family, who had come to enjoy a picnic at Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary of Tripura’s Sepahijala District fell into a deep gorge.
Speaking to the media, an unidentified man, who had also come with his family for the picnic, said, “Like everyone else, we were enjoying the picnic. A family of around 17 people had come to enjoy the outing in a goods-laden truck carrying their family members. We immediately rushed to the spot, and everyone came together to rescue them. The driver, however, managed to escape the scene.”
Another witness, who runs a shop nearby, mentioned that the family had come from Melaghar to Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary for the picnic. While returning home, their vehicle fell into a deep gorge.
